NILD

Trinity provides intervention for students who struggle academically as well as gifted students. We realize that each student is created by God with his own unique strengths and weaknesses.

Trinity uses the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD) model of intervention to provide specialized instruction for students with learning differences. Unlike simple tutoring which focuses on re-teaching content, NILD educational therapy addresses the processing and cognitive areas  needed to be successful in the classroom. Educational therapy equips students to become competent, confident learners.

Differentiating instruction is a way that teachers will help meet the diverse needs of each student. Trinity Academy teachers and staff:

  • Have a student-centered mindset
  • Are trained to differentiate instruction for students with special needs (whether they struggle with learning or are gifted)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to review data and make adjustments to instruction as needed
  • Use multiple forms of assessments to ensure students have the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in a variety of ways
  • Offer specialized instruction for students with learning differences using the NILD model of intervention
  • Partner with families in the process of reaching all students
