Trinity Athletics Eligibility Requirements

To complete (either in sports or other extracurricular activities) during the fall or spring semester:

1. The student must have passed at least 5 classes in the preceding semester. Summer makeup classes do not count toward the fulfillment of this requirement.

2. The student must be enrolled in at least 5 on campus classes during the semester. Being enrolled as a proctor does not count toward fulfillment of this requirement.

3. If the student has attended another high school and this is his/her first semester at Trinity, he/she must complete a transfer eligibility form. It is vital that the student discuss athletic/activity eligibility with the administration prior to making a decision to enroll at Trinity Academy.

To be able to practice or play:

1. The student must maintain a 70% or greater grade average for the current semester and be passing 5 classes.

2. See the handbook for further information about academic restrictions.

DUAL PARTICIPATION - Procedures 2007-2008

Trinity Academy High School allows for students to participate in concurrent sports provided the following requirements are met and maintained.

1) The student-athlete must choose a primary sport and will participate in that sport full-time.  The student should participate in the secondary sport when it does not conflict with the primary. This plan must be approved prior to trying out and kept on file with the Athletic Director.

2) Both head coaches/sponsors must be in agreement about the dual arrangement.  If both coaches do not agree, the individual must choose between the activities.  Any head coach may choose to not have secondary sport athletes on their roster.

3) The student-athlete must be "available" to participate in at least half of a secondary sport's regular season contests/performances. This means they don't have to play, but could play if the coach desires.

4) Cheerleading and Drill team are considered two season sports for this policy (fall and winter).
